string.matches()

Get the strings that match a given string or regex.

Signature

matches(match: String) => Array

Description

The matches() method returns an Array of strings that matches a give string or regex.

The source string isn’t changed.

Parameters

match

String

Yes

A string to match against the source string. match can be a regex. Supports Java regex.

Return value

Type Description

Array

List of strings that match match.

Examples

'foo bar baz'.matches('bar')
[
  "bar"
]
'foo bar baz'.matches('[a-z]+')
[
  "foo",
  "bar",
  "baz"
]
