string.split()

Split a String given a delimiter.

Signature

split(delimiter: String) => Array

Description

The split() method splits the original string at every occurrence of delimiter and returns an Array of strings.

The delimiter isn’t preserved in the results.

The original string isn’t changed.

Parameters

Delimiter of where to split source string.

Return value

Type Description

Array

Array of strings.

Examples

'foobarbaz'.split('b')
[
  "foo",
  "ar",
  "az"
]
